Pet Photo Sessions- Discounted in August & September

I have always had a huge soft spot in my heart for animals, dogs in particular. When someone asked me what I was going to be when I grew up, I would tell them a veterinarian! Then I began to think maybe even a dog groomer. But, as life progressed, it became clear this was not my path. But, when I started my photography business, I knew I could incorporate my love for animals into my field by offering pet photography sessions! As unconventional as it may sound, pet photography has really grown in popularity. Afterall, our pets are like children and deserve some frameable prints too! I am quite comfortable with all breeds large and small and can usually get our furry friends to display some pretty creative outfits and poses.

So, in August and September I am offering discounted pet photo sessions for $40. This includes one hour with your pet in the location of your choice, hugs & kisses and a CD with edited digital images. I am offering an additional $5 option for an 8x10 print of your favorite shot.

20 Years of Memories

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the Pleasant Ridge Class of 1989! This was held in Ft. Leavenworth and there were two events, one with the kiddies and one without. My goal was to capture a good variety of the celebrations.

I had to capture many of the kiddos when they were not expecting it because when I asked them to pose for the camera, they were just not having it!

Except this little girl, Jess. She was the sweetest! She really gravitated toward my camera and was a natural model. Thanks cutie!

This little girl was pretty adorable too.

I just love this moment I caught right as the boys blew past me in their water gun fight.

Also captured some nice family portraits for the class members. Here are a couple of my favorite shots.

Before & After Using Filters

Here is a before shot of one of Deb and Mark's engagment photos... straight out of the camera. Notice that the photo lacks depth, character and it just doesn't "pop".

And here is a version after a custom preset filter was applied. Wow, what a difference! I love applying certain styles to photos for a different look and feel.

August and September Referral Special

If you refer someone who purchases a photo session or restoration service at full price, your next session or photo service will be HALF PRICE!

Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

This weekend I visited the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, located on 300 ecologically diverse acres in southern Johnson County. The Arboretum was founded to keep Overland Park at the forefront of environmental and ecological issues. About 85 percent of the property is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems. The remaining portion includes traditional botanical gardens, the Environmental Education Visitors Center (EEVC) and maintenance facilities.

This was a really beautiful well-kept secret and I captured many wonderful moments in nature. A special thank you to my beautiful mother who was my model for the day!

Bridal Shower Memories

Saturday I went to my friend Deb's bridal shower and captured some memories for her. She had 30 people in attendance, wowsers!

Look at this detail! Jen W. spent quite some time making these chocolate butterflies to adorn the beautiful cake.

Aren't these personalized margarita packets the cutest ever?

The lovely bride and her two fabulous hostesses, Jen W. and Tammy.

The girls are getting a kick out of my photography style. (I was standing on a chair for some height and some better angles. Hey, a short girl has to do whatever it takes, especially when her 6'5" husband isn't around to climb on!)

Lingerie from the future mom-in-law. Classic!

Congrats Deb & Mark! I can't wait to capture your beautiful wedding in September. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special memories!
